Why not come and join us? Tavistock Wheelers is always looking for new riders, of all ages, men and women, to join the fun of our Sunday rides. We have riders from 17 to 70!

The weekly Sunday club ride is the focal point of Tavistock Wheelers; it provides an ideal opportunity for potential new members to meet riders from the club, learn about club activities and of course to improve your fitness and cycling ability. Most importantly our ethos is that club rides should be enjoyed by all!

The ride starts from Bedford Square, Tavistock, every Sunday throughout the year at 8 AM, with the exception of winter months, where we start at 9am. The rides take place every week, with the one exception of icy conditions - cancellations and changes will appear on our Homepage.

We guarantee that new comers will not be dropped or left behind, we want your ride with us to be an enjoyable experience, and to this end we would ask that before you meet us on a Sunday morning, you have the following:

• A road bike, with sufficiently low gears, in good working order.
• Helmet.
• Appropriate clothing, for the time of year.
• A simple puncture repair set, including spare tubes.
• Bike handling skills, including a knowledge of "cycling etiquette" and of course road safety. Our club prides itself on its safety record and its harmonious relationships with other West Devon road users!
• Finally, a basic standard of cycling fitness. This will ensure that your first ride with us will be enjoyable, rather than an ordeal. As a rough guide, you should be able to maintain an average speed of 12 mph, for a two-hour period.

We always make allowances for new riders, so you will have opportunity for breaks during our rides and when you join us, we will be able to advise you on how to improve your fitness. If you want any further information contact rideinfo@tavywheelers.co.uk.
