Club Rides
Everyone is welcome - you don't need to be a member to try our rides.
We meet every Sunday at 8am in Bedford Square, Tavistock, Devon and usually ride about 35 miles, returning around 11:30. The pace isn't too brisk and we'll wait for you if you get behind, so give it a go!
We also meet on Wednesday evenings in Bedford Square, Tavistock at 6pm for a 20-mile ride. The pace is higher and you'll need good lights.
Club Meetings
We meet for a chat at 8pm on the first Thursday of each month in the Guide Hall, Tavistock (on your left as you enter the Wharf car park). You're welcome to join us.
Racing
We run a 25-mile Time Trial in April and a 10-mile TT in July each year. For details, please see the Cycling Time Trials Handbook or visit the CTT website at http://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/. Several members take part in local TTs, but we're still looking for a winner!
Audaxes and Sportives
There are several good local events such as the Dartmoor Classic http://www.dartmoorclassic.co.uk/, the Dartmoor Devil http://www.audax.uk.net/, and less local ones like the Etape Caledonia http://www.etapecaledonia.co.uk/. If you'd like to join us for these, let us know at info@tavywheelers.co.uk.
Tavistock Cycles
Martin and Lorna Legg at Tavistock Cycles (in Paddon's Row in the centre of Tavistock, 01822-617630) have a good range of bikes, spares, accessories and clothing and will service your bike. They also have bikes for hire. Martin will be happy to let you know more about Tavy Wheelers.
